I have already worn sandals once this month and am determined to wear them again. Since it is starting to warm up, I've been more conscious about my toenails. Something as simple as a nail color can go such a long way when it means you feel more boss-like or put together. This might not be true for everyone, but I definitely get excited when it starts to look pretty out and I can actually wear something other than jeans and boots.
I have always been on the search for new nail colors and found these pretty Sally Hansen Miracle Gels to try out. When it comes to doing my nails, I definitely do not want to be sitting there for an hour waiting for them to dry only to get up and smear them. Paying for a mani/pedi is also not in the budget, although I would love to just have a monthly treatment, doing it yourself can be just as great.
Now I have only gotten a gel manicure once, and I quite liked the process, except for the waiting. I just remember sitting there for what seemed like forever. Maybe that's just because I was new to it, or I have no patience, but I also loved the way that it stayed on forever. By "forever," I mean like two weeks or until I got bored with the color. These no UV light, no chip, polishes have been out for quite some time, but I thought why not test it to see just how long they last? Granted, I did not purchase the Miracle Gel topcoat and was very pleased with the results nonetheless.
This peachy coral, named Koi Coral, is a color I've actually never owned. It's very springy and light. One thing I noticed with the bottles, is that there's a rubber lining on the lid, which makes it so easy to open. I've literally had to pry nail polish bottles open with my teeth before, so I am very grateful these are easy to open.
The next shade I picked up was After Altar, which I assume is a marriage reference? I'm always curious how companies think of the names ha. Anyway, this one is a nice creamy white color. Almost like an eggshell, I would say. Perfect for your tootsies! I always gravitate towards bright neutrals and whites for my toes during the spring and summer. It's a nice base for glitter and sparkle, too.
I also picked up this lavender pink shade, because I also do not have a color like this, and fell in love with it. It's called Forever Together. I also really appreciate the flat brush or applicator that comes with it. I always find that they're just the best brushes for polish, I may be partial to having squared nails, but I can swipe once and the whole nail is covered!
To my knowledge, these colors are not listed on the Sally Hansen website as I was searching for them so I may have bought the last of them at my Target or what have you. I made sure to link them from Amazon, as they still exist out there on the interweb. I know I get so annoyed when a color I love gets discontinued, but hey, that means new polish! There's usually a dupe for just about any color anyway. What's your go-to spring shade?
It's only starting to get extremely warm, like 90 degrees, here in Chicago and it's only June! I swear, Chicago has probably one of the weirdest climates ever. With that said, the flip flops, gladiators, and of course Birkenstocks must come out. Cute tootsies are basically a necessity in this case and I have some of my favorites colors to share.
When it comes to painting my nails, especially in the summer, I normally only paint my toes and forget my actual nails. One reason being that I'm doing so many things outside: painting our entire garage, camping, and just being outside can sometimes discourage me from even applying anything to my nails. However, I have noticed that toe nail polish loves to just hang out on my toes forever.
Essie Tassel Shaker- Even though this was considered a New Years color, I still love the way it looks over white nail polish during the summer. It adds some class to any outfit or look. I don't normally like top coats, but this one is very easy to remove and I love how it's specks and not just glitter. The mix of silver, gold, and rose gold make it one of my favorite polishes.
Deborah Lippmann Baby Love- I don't always enjoy sheer nail polishes, but this one I got from the Sephora Favorites Pretty in Pink box was so cute and great to use for diy French manicures and to add a bit of sophistication to your toes or finger nails.
Revlon Parfumerie in Surf Spray- It was actually funny how I found this polish. I was at my local dollar store and found a ton of Revlon makeup. I thought this was not only a really pretty shade, but it is scented! I've seen these go for like eight dollars normally and I was surprised to seem them for just one. The smell, while rather revolting when you put it on wet, actually doesn't smell that bad after it dries. To be honest, it does take more than two coats, but I just love the perfect sea blue on my toes that I just can't get rid of it.
Revlon Perfect Pair-This has been one of my absolute favorite nude polishes I have ever tried. It's basically a one coater, has a square applicator brush, and dries instantly. Now that's a nail polish alright. It just looks great on everyone's nails.
Sally Hansen Insta Dry Expresso-The image on the link is deceiving because it looks like it has glitter in it, but as you can see in my pictures, it doesn't. There are no sparkles or shimmer in this nail polish, but it is still a very pretty mocha-pink. I think it's the perfect pink for the warm months.
Essie Tuck it in my Tux- This is another great sheer nude that I wanted to include as an alternative to the Deborah Lippmann one. It is a little more opaque and is beautiful on the toes and contrasts with a fresh, summer tan.
I have a lot more polishes were that came from, but I thought these were perfect for this season and I'm sure I'll be discovering more in the future. What's your summer shade?
I haven't done a nail polish post in so long and to be fair, I'm not that big on the #nailsonfleek trend but, I found possibly one of the most life changing (a little dramatic, Natalie) nail polishes for all you lazy nail people out there like myself.
I've always hated doing my nails; I thought there was no hope for us girls that despise nails and all things that come with it. Until one very blessed day as I was strolling past a Walgreen's kiosk that read, "1 STEP GEL, NO LAMP", and I was instantly hooked. Wet n Wild's Wondergel has changed the nail polish game for sure. This product is only five bucks and does "wonders" on my nails, here's why:
1) They're So Opaque
I don't think I have encountered a nail polish that has the best opaqueness these do. Every time I have used these, I've only used one coat and I was done. Every color I have bought (only these three, so sad) performed beautifully.
2) They Don't Chip--EVER
I wore this polish for over two weeks and it never budged. Sometimes, with my nail polish on my toes, it never chips but, even on my fingernails nothing came off!
3) Flash Drying Time
I couldn't compare how fast the drying time was in minutes or even seconds because it literally dries as soon as you apply it. I can be in bed and apply one coat to my nails and go to sleep as soon as I'm done it's that fast. Funny story, I painted my nails with this and immediately ate Flaming Hot Cheetos right after so, if that doesn't say it's a holy grail polish then I don't know what does.
4) The Best Brush
I'm never the one to get picky about a nail polish brush but, it so makes the difference! Especially this one because it's flat and can spread across the entire nail as you apply the polish.
5) No Top Coat or Lamp Needed
There's no need for any final coat or lamp. The beauty of this polish is how easy and convenient it is to use. It looks like a gel and stays looking like a gel for so long.
If any of you are like me and dread the chore of painting nails, please go out and try these polishes. They're super affordable and amazing quality gel polishes. Wet n Wild keeps impressing me every time they come out with new stuff so I highly recommend trying their other products out. Have you guys tried these yet?

Hello friends! I promised that I would get a post or two up while I am away on vacation so this might be a bit shorter than normal.
I have been in the nail painting mood lately and usually I'm too lazy to do my nails in the summertime. I've just been obsessing over the new colors that are out in the stores right now. They all look so summery and bright! I just needed to share my favorite colors this season because they're just so pretty.
Essie has been making a whole lot of new nail polishes recently and it seems like a never ending collection. I have so many Essie nail polishes so it was pretty hard picking out the two that I really love. The shade Aruba Blue is just a classic, metallic cobalt blue that really looks great for pedicures.
I also love bright, neon orange and coral shades on the nails. They compliment a tan so well. Essie's Geranium is a great orangey-red. Essie ceases to amaze me with their shades, however, I wish they weren't as expensive as they are ($8.99). I would have every single shade if they weren't that pricey!
I have been loving OPI's nail polishes recently and their selection of colors have really impressed me. I was always a big Essie fan and never made my way by the OPI kiosk at Target or the drugstore. One day though, I did stroll past a new OPI stand and was pleasantly surprised at the pretty colors they had. The shade Cajun Shrimp is another great orange shade. It's a bit toned down from the Essie one and could look great on nails or toes!
Metallic colors are so pretty and the shade A Rose By Dawn...Broke By Noon (great name) is the perfect rose shade for spring and summer. It looks so pretty on and has a pearly finish to it.
Wet 'n' Wild has really upped their game with all of their makeup lately. I liked Wet 'n' Wild in the past but, I love it even more now! Especially their new One Step Wonder Gels. It's a hassle-free, stress-free, affordable, and lamp-less gel manicure! What more could you want?
The shade Pretty Peas is like the perfect mint shade. EVER. I love the formula of these polishes and they last a really long time (like two weeks). No need for top coat; the best lazy girl's nail polish if you ask me. The brush is really nice and paddle like. I have to get more soon.
What's your go-to summer shade?

Since I have been loving Essie nail polish a ton lately, I thought I could show you guys my collection! Essie nail polishes are not the cheapest nail polishes, they go for about $8.50 each but, have in mind, I have collected these over a period of 3 years (probably should go through them all but, they just so pretty!). The quality of these nail polishes are the best and I can't seem to find any others that compare.
Starting from top left to right:
1) Go Overboard
2)Butler Please
3)Turquoise and Caicos
4) Aruba Blue
5) Where's my Chauffeur?
Middle from left to right:
1) Forever Yummy
2) Chinchilly
3) Wicked
These mini Essie nail polishes are from the 2014 fall collection line and I found them at Kohl's one day. I'm sure you can find these colors in the regular sizes as well.
Bottom left to right:
1) Peach Side Babe
2) Double Breasted Jacket
3) For the Twill of It
4) Watermelon
5) No Place Like Chrome
This was just a quick blog I wanted to post for you guys and I am really impressed with Essie and their line. I feel like they have every single color you could want to go with any outfit and they last for over a week and the color pay off is amazing. Doing my nails can seem like a tough chore to do because I always have something else going on and I completely ruin my nails. Essie never stays wet and dries instantly. Plus, there's no annoying smell that stays in your room for a long time. I'd say, for a pretty pricey nail polish, this is worth saving your money for.

Doing my nails is like mowing the lawn. It's a chore ladies. However, when I do my nails I have some of my favorite nail polishes for summer to share with you guys!
This first nailpolish is one of my favorite blue shades for the summer. It is a bright cobalt blue and you only need one to two coats. It reminds me of the ocean!
>Essie's "Butler Please" $8.50 at Walgreens
I have been really into metallics lately and I know I know Selena Gomez blah blah blah... But her OPI collection is pretty great! I love coppers and golds on my nails and this is definatley one you should pick up for the summer!
> Nicole by OPI Selena's "Kissed by Midnight" $9 at Ulta
Don't worry! Not all my nail polishes are really expensive high street brands, but Sinful Colors has a great collection of colors and the quality is really good! This is my favorite bright neon pink color to wear on my toes and is great for the beach! It does take about 3 coats to apply but the color payoff is amazing!
> Sinful Color's "24/7" $1.99 at Walgreens
This is one of my newer favorites that I just picked up and I am in love. I describe it as very "juicy" haha I look at it on my nails and want to just eat it off (but I don't). It's one of Essie's newest summer shades.
> Essie's "Peach Side Babe" $8.50 at Walgreens
And lastly, this is one of my yearly favorites because I love it so so much is OPI's Cajun Shrimp. This is a popular favorite in their collection and I just discovered it. Lately I have been really into bright watermelon-y, orangey reds. This summer I will definatley be looking out for some more OPI colors to come!
>OPI's "Cajun Shrimp" $9 at Ulta
Thanks for reading my top nail polishes for this summer! I hope you enjoyed and try out these awesome colors!
What's your must have nail polish for these hot summer months?
Xoxo Nat
