On warm summer nights you'll find me running out the door with my sister and best friend, carrying only our wristlet keychain and phones, ready to get Dairy Queen for the fifth time that week...pure bliss right? There is no better feeling than finishing a work day, wearing your pajamas, and going on a joy ride with a cherry dipped vanilla cone in hand.
Relaxed summers are what I'm all about and there are just a few common essentials I have at all times. With the blend of work and play, I'm always at the ready for spontaneous summer outings. Before I'm out the door, I'll probably spritz a little bit Ralph Lauren Romance on my neck and wrists because who knows what summer love you might fall into at Dairy Queen amirite? I might even feel a bit more saucy and pop on my absolute go-to lipgloss, Gloss Bomb by Fenty Beauty. It's like ice cream on your lips all the time. I'll swipe on some Diorshow and we are ready for the ball! I mean mall...like there's a difference?
You probably won't even recognize me because I have my Ray Ban Aviator shades on 24/7. It took awhile to convince myself that these would be worth buying, mainly because I am just obsessed with collecting and wearing different styles, but for a long time I was looking for the perfect pilot aviators that fit my face and I will never go back to any pair. If you're even thinking about Ray Bans...do it. I also highly recommend trying them on in store before ordering from any resale site...wink.
Along with accessories, I've been really into dainty gold jewelry. I just think it looks so timeless and delicate. Just one simple gold chain and a stack of rings is all I need to feel like I'm put together during my Zoom meetings. I get a lot of my jewelry from Madewell, but whenever I go on vacation or visit new places I constantly look for unique pieces.
As much as I love a good bag with any outfit, I'm actually not that into big bulky purses. A simple wristlet will do for me.
I really wanted a small wristlet to have for quick trips to DQ, Target, or anywhere else to be honest. This is the Kate Spade laurel way bitsy and I found it on sale about a month ago and it has been the perfect bag for holding my card, license, and links right to this wristlet strap I found on Amazon. It's like a leash for my wallet and I love it.
I've had some pretty blissful summer nights and not worrying about what I need to bring or carry is preferred. Worry free days in the sun can outlast as long as it pleases and I am not complaining. I've got just what I need and sure—there's plenty of ice cream to go around.
We are on the verge of spring cleaning season, so I thought it was about time to do a beauty clear out. I've been holding onto products from high school and old red lipsticks that I just will never wear, but fantasize about some sort of grand event I might need to wear it to. We can dream, right?
I really haven't been wearing makeup this year, but you might notice that my hair care collection has definitely expanded since the beginning of quarantine. I thought I would pile together some of my favorite products that have gotten me through the beginning of this year—out with the old and in with the new! It's about time for me to switch things up and give my look a refresh as things start to brighten up.
For the hair...
Speaking of a refresh, I have been loving giving myself blown out waves and curls recently, so using the Verb Ghost Dry Oil has maintained the style and body throughout the day. It gives you a beautiful, silky blowout without frizz and the perfect amount of conditioning.
If that isn't enough, I've been loving Living Proof products. Especially, the Living Proof No-Frizz Instant Defrizzer which has also been really good for dry wintery ends and also provides UV protection which is great for the summertime. Occasionally, I need to give my hair an extra conditioning boost, so I'll use the Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray to save the damaged strands and brush through my hair smoothly after I shower. I have combo straight and wavy hair, so sometimes it can be nice to have a 2 in 1 detangling spray when I need it.
For the Face...
Okay, I admit, I gave into Tik Tok's trending L'Oreal Infallible Foundation in a Powder. I kid you not, this is one of the best full coverage powders. I've been through all the matte BB's and translucent powders, but this does not cake, it does not sit into fine lines, but smooths, blurs, and feels like the most weightless powder I've ever used. If that description doesn't sell you, watch the Tik Toks.
I have always been interested in trying things from Charlotte Tilbury, so when I received this sample from my last Sephora purchase I was excited to have a go at it. I rarely wear liquid foundation, but if anything is marketed as "airbrushed"—I'm all in. The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation will become your best friend. If you're feeling like death before Zoom, this foundation will revive you. Pores are magically gone, it stays all day (even if you're just sitting on your couch), and has a natural matte finish so no shifting on your face. We don't want that!
These were just some of my favorite beauty finds from this month, and I'm excited to really get some use out of these products even if I'm just going to the grocery store! What have been your beauty faves this month?
Since summer has been different, to say the least, my family and I have been continuing to take precaution when we leave the house. I think it's valid to say that after all of that staying at home, many of us have felt like we've needed an excuse to get out. Even to the grocery store. On occasion, my mom and I will hit up some stores, but we're still really weary of where we're going and if it is even necessary to go there.
With that said, I thought I would share some of my carry out essentials and what I bring with me if I do plan on going out. Obviously masks and hand sanitizers are no question, but I have found that the contents of my purse are purposeful. If you have known me for a while then you might have seen me just carrying around a wristlet let alone my phone along with it.
This cute orange bowling style bag has had me swoon. Unlike the large bowling bags I've seen on the luxury purse market, I picked this little guy up from TJ Maxx. You'd think that since this purse has such a defined round shape that it would hit you on the hip, but I've adjusted the strap just right so it's not sitting awkwardly on my hip. Here is a similar dome satchel I found by the same brand, Isabelle, on Poshmark.
I always have some type of small beauty product in my bag depending on where I'm going. Either perfume, lip balm, lotion, you name it. The Chloé Nomade perfume has been my absolute favorite scent to wear—even if I'm just going out to buy groceries. It's a warm floral, perfect for summer and fall. With hints of oakmoss, freesia, and mirabelle plum liquor, you'd think it's a sophisticated fragrance, and it is! If you don't love really sweet or floral, but more musky and warm scents, this is the fragrance for you. The travel size spray bottle is indeed a plus.
I always make sure to have at least two masks in my bag wherever I'm going. You never know if you might lose one, someone in my family forgets one (although unsanitary, I wouldn't recommend on the regular), or it gets dirty. No one likes the feeling of a makeup covered mask, so you always have to be prepared. I love the Athleta Everyday Non Medical masks. They come in a pack of five neutral colors. At first, I thought the blue mask would be more of a navy color, but mine turned out to be teal and I can't complain, it's so cute!
My carry out essentials definitely change from time to time, but I think it's good to only take what I really need with me. I couldn't possibly ever go anywhere with a huge bag full of stuff, it's not ideal for me. Now when I do need to go somewhere, I am more mindful about what is truly necessary—masks and hand sanitizer are the number one essentials and I would hope everyone feels the same way. We have to be cautious, thoughtful, and smart about where we are going, what we are bringing (or what virus we might be bringing), and use our best judgement always. What are some of your carry out essentials?
I feel like I've been lacking on my recent favorites lately with makeup, so I thought I would compile a few products that I have really enjoyed because I have been busy with many events like my prom and graduation.
As the summer is beginning, I have really loved the light makeup look and have embraced my natural glow. I have never liked a full face of makeup, but when I want to wear some, I wear little. I have mentioned some of these products before, but have grown to love them.
I have been obsessed with this Bobbi Brown color corrector because it is so moisturizing and great to use after long nights or on unexpected zits that might pop up.
I have also loved this Lancome Renegerie Lift Volumetry has been great on my skin because it has spf and is extremely moisturizing.
For adding a hint of color to any look, I like to use this Tarte Flush because it gives a nice pigment and isn't overwhelming on the cheeks.
For my lips, I have been trying to wear brighter and more vibrant colors. This Ysl Rouge Rose lipstick has not only changed the way I wear lipstick, but has probably been the nicest one I have ever owned.
I have enjoyed using my translucent powders recently, but I have also loved this Bare Minerals powder a lot because it has an incredible, oil free consistency and wear. During the hot months, it can be a bummer when your face powder gives out on you. I love taking a big powder brush and sometimes I just wear this on its own.
One product that has really convinced me to be a little more lenient with buying more expensive makeup is this bb cream. It has been so great for these warmer months because it's light and covering. It doesn't feel sticky, but it leaves a natural glow and finish. You really don't need more than a pea sized amount and it is really great to take on trips.
My signature scent has really, over the course of the past few months, has been this Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede perfume. It is the total embodiment of spring and all that I love very much. I use it so sparingly and I don't think I will ever buy another kind of perfume again.
Blues have looked so nice on my tootsies and I actually found this scented Revlon Sea Spray Nailpolish at the dollar store and I keep grabbing it as a color to use. It is so bright and actually does smell really good! Do not underestimate cheap nail polish. You never know what you might find.
What's been a favorite product of yours this month?
Over the past couple of weeks, I have picked up a few new things to try out and experiment with. I was kind of in the mood for new makeup and needed a couple replacement products for things that I have used all the way up. Since it's almost spring, I have really focused on getting things that will actually be something i'll use and not waste or end up hoarding in my makeup collection. I love to clean, but I hate wasting product.
I went to a few places over the past month like Sephora and Target, and have been impressed by the newer things that are becoming available. I love trying out newer things and I have heard many great things about these products that I just bought.
I had just bought these two Too Faced products on a fashion field trip I took a week ago. I'm always going through primers and thought it would be best to try a newer one out for the new season. I bought this Too Faced Hangover Primer, which I found to be incredibly moisturizing and hydrating. It doesn't cause oily skin even though it's infused with coconut water. You can read more, here, but I have really been reaching for this on my more natural makeup days.
I also picked up the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I have heard raves about this across the web and have hesitated to try it because I already love the Maybelline Lash Sensational. It does a great job at curling the lashes and really gives them more volume. It gives the illusion of butterfly lashes and is so pretty on anyone.
I also wanted a lip scrub, but I hate lip scrubs. Haha. So, I found this Elf Lip Exfoliator in Mint Maniac and I love it! It's basically a lip scrub in a tube of lipstick. It's sugar based and has great, moisturizing oils in it to soften your lips. It has really changed my lipstick and liquid lipstick application a ton. Plus, it's only three dollars!
I happened to be looking for a new highlighter at Target and I literally strolled right in front of an Essence kiosk! They have Essence at my local Target and I didn't know about it?! Apparently Target has acquired many new brands like Essence, Zoella Beauty, Soap and Glory, Boots, and more UK brands. The Essence Pure Nude highlighter has become a favorite! It's a warm, golden highlighter and the pigmentation is phenomenal. For the size of it and being only about five bucks, it is so worth it.
I was also looking for a new, springy nail polish and fell in love with this pinky taupe color. It's a very subtle rose shade and I love the way it pulls together any spring outfit. It dries insanely fast, too. I'm impressed with Sally Hansen right now and wonder why I never really got into any of her nail polishes before.
I hope you guys enjoyed my quick little 5 to try post. I enjoy reading and writing these posts because they aren't as long and I love to see what people have been trying out and using lately. What makeup have you been using recently?
Happy Thursday everyone! I was recently going through some of my body/skincare products that I have hoarded in a basket in my closet and came across all of these awesome Body Shop butters and gels. I love the Body Shop so much, but I've been trying so many other new things lately that I've been kind of distracted to be honest. It also takes me a lifetime to use up a single tub of body butter so I always hesitate before I open one because I know I'm gonna have to continue to use that same one for the next couple months before I can open and start a new one.
These body butters are priced at a whopping $22 and are not inexpensive at all. However, smart Natalie figured out that TJ Maxx (or TK Maxx for my British folks), Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, and Ross normally have these full sized body butters for about $6. Please do not go to the Body Shop or Ulta unless you are looking for a specific scent. I would highly recommend checking out those places for some really good deals on Body Shop products.
My favorite scent out of all of the ones they offer is Mango. Mango scented stuff from the Body Shop smells so fruity, sweet, and fresh. I love fruit scented products and Mango has to be the best in my opinion. I have had miniature body butters of this and I walked into a TJ Maxx one day and totally scored.
Everyone has their signature scent and I definitely think this one is mine from the Body Shop. I love using this after I shower as an all-over-body moisturizer.
These next two I got as gifts and really love them, but just not as much as the Mango one. On the left, I have Papaya and the right I have the Fuji Green Tea body butter. The Papaya is a little bit sweet and is similar to Mango; it is just more fresh if that makes sense. The Mango is a lot more sweeter than the Papaya.
These last items were gifted to me for Christmas from my friend Ellaby. This was a mini gift set called the Mango Treats Gift Set which was a small box and it included both this mini gel and lotion, plus a mini loofa. The loofa was so cute because the handle came out of the box like a little ornament! I was really excited to try out more of the different types of products the Body Shop has especially the shower gel (and because I needed a new one). What have been your guys' top scent or product at the Body Shop?
So, basically, Wet'n'Wild is now my new absolute favorite drugstore brand of all time. I have no idea why or how their company keeps on getting better and better, but I am not complaining. Wet'n'Wild is pretty much known for its incredibly inexpensive beauty products that are amazingly great quality. They're coming out with new lines, collections, and formulas more better than ever. I drove probably a good five miles from my house to the next Walgreens across town to find these shades that I wanted to try out. Call it whatever you want, but venturing out was well worth it, even during a snowstorm might I add. The Wet'n'Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks are definitely a product I would repurchase over and over.
I bought the shade Nudie Patootie and Rebel Rose. I'm not one to love liquid pretty much anything, so it was a first that I decided I loved these two liquid lipsticks. I didn't want any bold lip color because that's not what I'm really comfortable wearing, so I was also happy to find some nudes. They have oranges, reds, pinks, and darker, more sultry red and berry shades. Priced at only five bucks, I'd say this is definitely a great product to buy at the drugstore. Matte lipsticks are especially hard for me to find the right ones that I like because many become too dry and crumbly overtime. These matte liquid lipsticks are moisturizing without giving you that desert-like dryness and does not leave your lips cracked.
The packaging is very cute and simple which I appreciate because no one wants very weird, shaped products that you just can't figure out. The doe foot applicator is very easy to use and it is kind of shaped to fit your lips and is easy to apply on the outer corner of your lips.
I was very happy with the formula of these lipsticks because they have great staying power and really do last a very long time. That's what everybody want's from a matte liquid lipstick, right? I really fell in love with the colors I chose. The more nude one is more brown toned and looks great paired with any eye look really. However, the shade that I loved more and thought was a bit more me was the pinker shade I bought. It's your classic blush nude and I really like the way it makes my lips look.
For what it's worth, these aren't your praised, Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, but they might just be better. They're not 30 dollars and the formula, to me is probably similar or at least almost as good. I have never bought a Kylie Lip Kit, so obviously I'm not an expert, but I feel like these would be great dupes. They really do "glide on like butter" and mattify pretty quickly. These don't smell as great as the Kylie Lip Kits probably do, and that's just a minor thing I noticed when I first put them on. I'm glad that's all I noticed though because the formula, pigmentation, and staying power have really impressed me.
I think I am getting more into matte things, because it's easier to maintain and put on for the most part. I just never liked it when matte lipsticks made my lips look dry and unappealing. We all want kissable lips and many lipsticks never really achieved that, besides these that are actually pretty moisturizing. I tried using a lip scrub and then lip balm before applying these just to make sure that my lips were smooth throughout the application and ensure that they aren't going to crumble, which really helped.
I think these are great as everyday lipsticks or even party and evening lipsticks. They have a very wide range of shades that I'm sure anyone could love if they're looking for a new matte lipstick. Have you tried these yet?
The first month of the new year has already crept upon us. I can't believe how incredibly fast time has flown. A lot of things happened last year and I hope that this year brings a lot more great things as I transition out of high school and into college. On a less serious note, I have collected some of the products I found this beginning month, to be great products to start off the new year. I have many favorites, but I wanted to show you all the ones I have been reaching for the most this month and probably will next month, too.
The one mascara that I have been grabbing every time I use makeup is the Revlon lash Potion mascara. It has really grown on me since I first bought it. This was one of my Amish store bargain buys that I posted about last year. It has a great lengthening formula and is great at opening the eyes up more.
For my eyeshadow base, I use Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I've gotten way more into primers this year and love the way they can make my makeup last. I never knew why I was oblivious to any primers at all. I actually bought this version of the Primer Potion at Nordstrom Rack for only 10 bucks! It's a steal and I think I'll have to go stock up on some more for the future because it's pretty much the same as the new version they came out with. There's really no creasing or makeup moving around at all and I will continue to use this product forever until Nordstrom Rack stops selling it.
I haven't been wearing liner too much lately, but when I do, I have been loving the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Velvet Liner. I feel like this liner has really changed the game for me and has been applying very smoothly. When I want to create smoky looks, this liner really does the job.
I have never been a huge fan of shadow sticks, but when I bought this on a whim at that Amish store, I was so glad I did. The Maybelline 24 Hr Color Tattoo in Creamy Chocolate has been amazing under the eyes and for lining my lids. It gives off more of a bronze tone and looks beautiful on a golden eye look. I really love the look of it.
Next, is this Essence Brow Pencil that has been quite the handy tool when it comes to fixing my un-sculpted brows. When I'm not using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, I grab this and naturally touch up my brows for a subtle definition. It's not too waxy and is very easy to use, especially for beginners. I love taking this pencil on the go.
I have fully transitioned to using this palette and cannot get my paws off of it. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette has been my holy grail palette these past two months. The colors are insanely pigmented and look great on just about everyone. Check out my in depth review I wrote last week, here.
Powder is something that I use almost everyday to just keep my face matte and oil free. I have been on the lookout for a really nice pressed powder and Mac Studio Fix powder has really stood out to me. I'm one to keep repurchasing a powder if I love it, however, I think I will definitely have to keep this one stocked in my collection. It has a cute compartment for a puff pad to take easily on the go, which I love and keeps me matte all day long.
On the bandwagon of primers, I have been using and getting the most out of my Laura Geller Under Makeup Mattifying Primer. I put a dime sized amount and just use my hands to spread it all over my face before applying makeup (kind of like a moisturizer in a way). It's really great under any foundation and I can't put on makeup without it. It makes all the difference and allows my face to stay oil free all day!
I hope you guys enjoyed my compiled favorites for this past month. I have a lot of great things planned for February and am excited for what this year brings. What has been your favorite products this month?
During the winter I really try to focus more on taking extra care of my skin. Recently, I have noticed more dryness and breakouts, probably due to different products and the very quick drop in temperature. It's been in the negatives for about two weeks here in Chicago. I've especially been trying to not over use products and make sure I am moisturizing while also treating my acne without drying it out even more.
There have been a lot of products that I noticed that have made a huge difference this season in my skin. I'm all about pamperment and I think it's an important thing to do for yourself every once and a while.
I was wandering around my Target during winter break and literally stopped dead in my tracks when I noticed this on the "new in beauty" shelf. Next to all of the Neutrogena wipes and Burt's Bees holiday gift sets, were these Zoella Beauty Ginger Fizzers. I have no idea where they came from because they were the only products from Zoella's range there. They are not as exciting as the Lush Bath Bombs, but they leave a very warm and spicy scent to any bath. I just love putting things in my baths anyway, so this was a really surprising treat to find at Target since they don't sell her line anywhere.
I really got into all of the facial sprays this winter and have really loved rosewater and everything rose scented. The Mario Badescu Facial Spray is perfectly refreshing and hydrating when I have dry patches on my face. It's also a really nice makeup setting spray, too.
I know I have mentioned the Lush Yoga Bomb before and I had to go repurchase it because it is just a really great, relaxing bath bomb to have. I love coming home from a hot yoga class and soaking into a bath and plopping this bath bomb in.
When I take showers and baths, I like to use my First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser to fully clean out my pores and help reduce some of the oil that naturally builds up. I find this cleanser to be really helpful and is very great with my sensitive skin. It has a fresh scent to it and a little goes a very long way because it lathers nicely on my skin.
I have also been using many different lotions lately (because I'm obsessed and receive them as gifts all the time). Firstly, the Body Shop Mango Treats Gift Set was one gift I received this year and it comes with a loofa, mini lotion, and mini shower gel. I love the mango scented line from the Body Shop and this cute lotion is perfect to take with me to travel with during the holidays. I also pop the Burt's Bees Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion into my purse for travel and to help keep my hands from drying out from the cold.
A nice way to finish off the winter pampering is with a facial mask. I love Lush's masks (and we all know that), but there have been some drugstore masks that I quite enjoy as well. If you are looking for easy and inexpensive facial masks to do, the Que Bella masks are really nice to use. Especially the Deep Cleansing mask and the Pore Minimizing masks are great hydrating and oil preventing masks. These are really fun to do with friends because everybody's skin type is different and you can pick and choose the one best for you. I have a lot more and I think I want to review all of them for you guys, so let me know!
I am a skincare freak and love trying new things. It's cold and unfortunately, the warm months are still far from arriving. My skin is on a roller coaster ride right now and can't decide how to react to this oppressively cold winter. Hopefully it'll get better. What's been in your holy grail winter skincare routine?
Happy new year everyone! It is finally the new year and what a way to start off fresh, but also remember the positive things that happened. I thought I would post today instead of tomorrow since it is the first day of the new year. My blog has been progressing and growing into a really awesome and supportive community. I am so thankful for every one of you who visit, read, and enjoy my content. I hope there are many more great things to come with this blog and you stick with me till the end of 2017 and beyond.
I have compiled a few (it was really hard deciding) of the most used products and products that have impacted my makeup/beauty regime a ton this past year.
Nars Velvet Matte Tint Foundation in Finland- This is a new addition to my makeup collection and was my Christmas present to myself. A girl can't go wrong with a really nice and great quality foundation, amirite? I was looking for an awesome matte foundation that wouldn't sink into my skin and show my dry skin or make my face oily after a short period of time--and it is great at avoiding all of those things. I will be doing a separate review of this foundation to get into further depth, but this is a really awesome product and I am already using so much of it. My very first Nars face product is a success!
Travel Size Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla- I actually went in store to be color matched for my foundation, then I bought it online at Sephora and needed a couple more bucks to get free shipping, so I was like what the heck, and bought a mini Nars concealer to try out as well. It is very creamy and I am really impressed by the way it doesn't crease it all under my eyes throughout the day.
Revlon HD Matte Lip Color in Love- This was one of my Amish store finds recently this year and I scored it at only a dollar. It truly is one of the best drugstore matte lip colors I have found and I love the vanilla scent it has and how long it really lasts and doesn't crumble on the lips. It's one of those matte lip products that won't sink into the creases of your lips and really hydrates them as it stays in place all day. Definitely a great find and a very pretty red for the holiday season.
Milani Conceal and Perfect Foundation- I think one of the greatest drugstore foundations I found this year was this Milani one. I was inspired by many Youtubers raving about how great the formula was and I was looking for a new, long wearing foundation. Even before the Nars one came along, this foundation is super buildable and is great to use with a damp beauty sponge. It doesn't crease or slide around and you hardly need a quarter size amount to get full coverage.
Soap & Glory Glow All Out Highlighter- I think this year was the year that highlighter really made its mark. Especially in my makeup regime, I never thought about highlighting and didn't quite know about how to do it or where the best products were. Surprisingly, the best highlighters can be right around the corner at your local drugstore and Soap & Glory has to be the main victor when it comes to inexpensive and great quality products overall this year. Specifically their highlighters. This one is not your overly top "KimK" highlight, but is very subtle and adds a really nice glow to the cheek bones.
Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in NC20- This is also a new addition to the collection and I have been on the search for a new and reliable powder that would make my skin oil free and very, very soft. I also want to write about this powder soon to give you all a full review on it, but so far I have really loved it. I was never one to want or be that interested in Mac, just because there are so many other great brands out there, I was so distracted by all the beauty noise! This powder really gets the job done and is very pretty on top of any foundation.
Mini Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold- This was a part of the Paint it Pink Sephora Favorites set and I have really made a dent in this little guy! Becca is really known for her timeless highlighters and products and they have become so popular in the beauty blogger world. I really love the smoothness and pigmentation of this highlighter/shimmer pigment. I actually use it more as an eyeshadow and love it. Plus, it's rose gold people.
Mini Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Captivating- I was never into blushes and I don't normally go out to just specifically buy one, but man I have fallen in love with Tarte's blushes. This was another part of the Sephora Favorites set and gives off the perfect peachy toned look. These blushes are incredibly smooth and opaque.
Essie Polish in Tassel Shaker- Another great clearance find was this Essie polish that is a glitter topcoat with really pretty copper and gold flakes in it. Perfect for New Years and just a really pretty polish in general. I love using it on an accent nail to add a bit of flare to my nails.
Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama- I don't know why, but this mascara really sticks out in my entire collections of drugstore mascaras. It was really hard, to be honest, to choose and not pick out the Maybelline Lash Sensational as my favorite (which it is), but this one just made every eye look "pop". It does a way better job at lengthening and bringing the lashes out more, especially on the sides of my lashes.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette- Ugh. Really no words for how great this palette is. I mean, just look at it... I will definitely be reviewing this, too. Let's just appreciate the artistry incorporated in this palette. Well done, Anastasia, well done. I really haven't put this down since Christmas.
Maybelline Eyestudio Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara in Clear- Moving on, another Amish store purchase was this brow gel! I only had one really old and expired Mary Kay Brow Gel, so I was in need for a new one. I heard only a little about Maybelline's new Brow Drama Mascaras and was a bit skeptical at the idea of painting on brows per say. I only like to use clear brow gel and was happy to find one in their collection, especially at an Amish store. It isn't sticky or tacky on the brows and really does help keep them in place.
Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede Cologne- I am very indecisive when it comes to picking out perfume scents and to be honest, bloggers made me ask for this for Christmas (thanks guys). I do have to say, this is probably one of the best perfumes I have ever owned, smelled, and used (and most expensive might I add). If you are looking for a great quality and smelling perfume, that you don't mind splurging on, I would really recommend Jo Malone's. I use this only on occasion, so the smaller bottle is completely fine. This will probably be talked about more later!
Beauty Blender- Last, but not least is the ever-so-talked about sponge. The thing we all "think" we need in our collections. The "infamous" sponge that costs so much, but works so damn well (to speak candidly). I got this in the Paint it Pink set as well and wasn't wanting to waste $20 on one sponge when I could spend a bit more and get a ton more products for my buck. If you are a crazy makeup lover, this sponge is well worth it and has changed the way I apply and use my makeup. Especially when you use it damp, it seamlessly blends and smooths out your makeup. Another favorite of mine is the Real Techniques sponge for like a quarter of the price. I just had to include this little guy because it's a "life changer".
Well, I guess that was all of the products I thought made the biggest impact in my makeup regime this year, even though there were still a ton more to talk about. I love reminiscing over the things that made me happy over the year and what I have accomplished. I think we're all ready to see what this new year brings and what new makeup I will discover. I wish everyone a happy new year and a relaxing holiday.
What product made your 2016 worthwhile?
Xoxo, Nat
