Makeup has always been the last step for me before I run out the door. Usually because I'm blow drying my hair or rummaging through my closet for the right top to wear, but I have always de-prioritized makeup on the list of things to do before I go out to meet up with people or even go to work. With that being said, I think I just never really worry about taking all of the time to intricately put makeup on or fuss with a specific look—I've found my key staple products that I love and it only takes me 10 minutes to throw it on and get out the door.
I know it seems like a lot of product, but I swear there's a science to applying it all quickly and seamlessly...at least with good lighting and a damp Beauty Blender that is! In addition, this has been my quick touchup routine for the past few months, so practice makes perfect...most days.
For the face...
Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Finland- I used to use this during college and wasn't sure why I stopped because it is just so darn stinkin good! I've struggled to find just the right tinted moisturizer that isn't too full coverage or dewy, and Nars always comes through. It also doesn't really oxidize, so my face doesn't look orange. It gives just enough coverage so that it blurs any profound imperfections.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla- Of course, I have to pair this moisturizer with one of the creamiest, long wearing concealers. I will say, it is a bit on the pricier side, but it's always a fall back for me because many drugstore concealers I've used start to crack on my face overtime.
Morphe Equalizer Foundation Primer- When I do remember to put on primer, I've been using Morphe's! Between this one and Smashbox, I've loved the way it blurs my pores but also helps my tinted moisturizer glide and stay on all throughout the day.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Duo- I feel like if there was one product I couldn't go without, it would be bronzer. I reach for it every time and use it practically everywhere...all about that glow! I use CT even as eyeshadow sometimes...which cuts the makeup applying time down a whole 30 seconds.
L'Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Powder Foundation- So on days where I'm just in need of a quick fix, a swipe of this miracle powder is all I need. It's been raved about and for good reason. It has all of the coverage and blurring qualities of a full coverage matte foundation. I will either use this on its own or sparingly though when I do opt for liquid foundation underneath.
On the eyes...
Morphe Micro Brow Pencil in Praline- I've been through many eyebrow pencils, and if there is a second product I can't go without applying, it's this. I just feel like once my brows are completely done and filled out, my face is framed and it makes all the difference. Really been loving this one!
Benefit 24 HR Brow Setter- Every now and then I'll remember to set my brows, or just use a brow gel to hold them in place. This one doesn't leave my brows feeling really tacky or sticky either.
Natasha Denona Baby Biba Palette- Three is simple enough for me! If I'm feelin like I'm in a bit of a need for glam, I've been using this palette to smoke out my eyes a bit. It's super creamy and smooth—I will say a little bit of fall out, but sometimes that makes it better to blend.
Diorshow Mascara- Hands down, my favorite mascara of all-time. Out of all of the ones I've tried growing up, I finally found the perfect one to curl and lengthen without clumps or making my lashes all spidery. This has become a Natalie staple for sure.
Don't forget the lips...
Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fu$$y- Okay, so I'm already in the car ready to go, but I can't forget to swipe the juiciest, creamiest, luscious lip gloss I've ever owned! It literally tastes like frosting, too. It doesn't stick or dry quickly either. One swipe—maybe a sneaky reapply—and I'm set for the night.
Only the essentials...
I often find it satisfying when I finally use up products or can switch out my peachy summer blushes for my winter berry ones. As much as I miss being tan and having that sun-kissed glow, it's refreshing to have a bit of a beauty switcheroo and pull out the products I wouldn't be using as much. With that said, I've been on a rollercoaster with my skin lately—I've been suffering from a bad case of mask-ne. So, with all of the holiday festivities, I've been reluctant to put on a full face, so here are the products I gravitate towards when I'm trying my best to keep it simple and clean.
Neutrogena Clean Full Coverage Flawless Matte CC Cream- When covering up blemishes and my uneven skin, I was always using products that would just sit on top of my face and I knew that the moment I took it off, another zit would form because it would just clog all of my pores. Until recently, I knew I had to use makeup that was safe and clean for my acne prone skin, so I went back to the tried and true—Neutrogena. Not only does this CC cream cover blemishes and even out redness, it's formulated with niacinamides which won't clog pores or make acne worse. It's not cakey and doesn't leave a flakey looking texture either! Would highly recommend for acne prone skin.
Bare Minerals barePRO Performance Wear Powder- Oil or shine is no match for this powder. I can usually even wear it without any other foundation. It blurs the appearance of pores and is very long lasting. I bring this compact with me for quick touch-ups, but I usually never have to because its staying power is so good!
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow- Don't get me wrong, I love my Nars Laguna, but in the winter time, I'm usually looking for a bronzer that has a little less gold to it. I've only heard great things about Charlotte Tilbury's bronzer and I'm pleased that it has a creamy and soft consistency. I've been using highlighters a lot more recently for an added touch of sparkle.
Glossier Boy Brow- Taming my brows seems like a constant, I can't leave the house without fixing them. So, the boy brow is the perfect brow filler and gel all in one without leaving my brows feeling sticky.
Diorshow Mascara- I don't think I will go back to using any other mascara because the Diorshow is the perfect curling and lengthening mascara I've used in a long time. No clumps, no spider eyes, just complete butterfly wings and the perfect amount of volume. I can't ask for more!
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fu$$y- RiRi knew what she was doing when she created this. I haven't ever been a fan of lipgloss until I tried this out from a sample kit and was hooked. The butteriest and creamiest, long lasting lip gloss. The perfect shade of blush pink and it won't have you smacking your lips.
A nice setlist of products going into the holidays, sensitive skin-friendly and the perfect touch of shimmer for any outing. Do you switch up your products for the seasons?
Sometimes I forget how much I love makeup, but truly, the allure of hunting for a specific product everyone is hyping up on YouTube is just so thrilling sometimes. My best friend and I would run to CVS in middle school for the next EOS lip balm flavor or Mane and Tail shampoo. There's something so comforting about drugstore makeup and it's just as good if not better than some of the higher end products I've used before.
The first tried and true product, one that I always pick up when I run out, is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer which saves me when I'm on the run and don't have the time to fix or prep and oh look I'm out the door! This concealer does wonders and half the time I don't use any other face makeup with it.
This next one was a recent addition, but one that I cannot live without anymore! I'm all about achieving that "JLo Glo" and the Wet 'n' Wild MegaGlo highlighter is my go-to. I used this throughout high school and college. It's the creamiest pearlescent highlighter I've ever used!
Walking on Eggshells was thee palette I used when I didn't want to "waste" my Tarte palette for every day wear. Smooth, creamy, with just a tad bit of fallout to smoke it out a bit and create the perfect golden smoky eye in minutes. All while using one finger and studying the eyeshadow placement diagram on the back of the palette. Topping it all off with some dreamy Clinique High Impact mascara, which I know is not drugstore, but would always find in my mom's makeup bag growing up.
I have very thin eyelashes, so much that I've taken to research lengthening serums and formulas that will thicken my lashes. I never thought you could even grow your lashes or eye brows, but the Maybelline Lash Sensational Serum has turned my lashes into butterfly wings. I kid you not, I can tell the difference after using it for one week and my lashes just look and feel fuller when I put mascara on.
I've definitely swayed away from using lipstick over the years, but there's always a time and a place for ramping up my usual look. I stick to neutrals mainly like nudes or rose-blush shades, like the Maybelline Nude Nuance or any of the cult Sensational Creamy Matte lipsticks they have. I used to be into the deep red and berry shades, but have not been that bold as of late.
Maybe it's time to switch it up? That's what I love about these drugstore finds, they're accessible and affordable—but also just hands down great products that everyone can reach for. What are your current fall beauty must-haves?
I am always up for a bargain, especially when it happens when all you're looking for is a new face cleanser— et voila! More deals than you could have imagined! I'll be honest, staying home has not done anything for my online shopping habits, but I am way more inclined to purchase products that I know will be quality and also give me a bang for my buck.
Since the holiday season is coming up, you might be already gathering lists together, have decorated a tree maybe, or might be doing things a little bit differently this year. Holidays should be spent with your loved ones, so gift giving shouldn't have to break the bank either! Sephora always has some great deals going on, plus you can always find something for yourself along the way, self-care amirite? Here's a recent Sephora beauty find I scored that I think will be on everyone's wishlist this year.
I was immediately drawn to this set because I was in need of a new Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and those things are not easy to come by. I could have gone out of my way to buy a $23 eyebrow pencil OR invest a little more and get a little more with this $48 Sephora Favorites Makeup Must-Haves Value Set which comes stocked with a couple full-size classics and some travel-size samples of products I've never tried before!
I am a sucker for when there's a well-balanced set because I want cult beauty products that I know I'll love and a couple new ones to try. I was especially excited about the Nars Orgasm blush ($30) which is full-size by the way. I don't wear blush that often, but in the colder months, I like to add a bit of color and I know this is the perfect warm-y pink. I was also thrilled to try out the Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick ($23) in First Kiss. It's the perfect blush nude, with a bit more red toned to it. I have heard people rave about Huda Beauty, so I can't wait to wear it to the grocery store (lmao).
One product I was a little disappointed in was the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir ($27) Mascara, which I had originally high hopes for, but when I pulled the brush out, it was covered in product and clumped together immediately on my lashes. Unless you like really dramatic lashes and not feathery ones like I normally have, this might be able to work for you, but I was just not that impressed by it. Another product that didn't do it for me was the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($15), only because I don't use them or think they actually work. However, I know a lot of people live for it, but maybe I'll try to give it another go! There's always one or two products in these types of sets that miss the mark, but overall, the value of this set is just too good not to pass up.
Whether you love makeup or finding good deals, I think this set isn't something to sleep on. It has a great variety of cult classic products that I think everyone could enjoy. Granted, you are getting a mix of full and travel size products. There isn't color variety either, which it would have been nice if Sephora offered value sets with different shades for different skin colors (or even eyebrow colors). You could divide this set up and gift someone one of the products or gift it to yourself. As holiday deals come out, be sure to snag this one before it sells out, you won't regret it! What will the holidays look like for you this year?
I have embraced warm tones this fall, and it's safe to say that the oranges, bronzes, browns, and reds of fall are definitely my shades. With makeup and clothes especially, I have been experimenting with some new finds. I always think back to middle school when I was watching all of these YouTubers and their extravagant Sephora hauls, but I can assure you that a couple of these products were found at TJ Maxx or were part of a sample set. I'm never really on the "hunt" for makeup products, per say but am always on the look out for some cult classics whenever I need to replenish the products I love.
Here is my fall beauty roundup...
For the face...
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation- My newest favorite foundation! I have always strayed away from foundations, but the "airbrush" quality of it has me swoon. Since I'm not going out too much, it doesn't make sense for me to put a full face of makeup on, but there are definitely those days I want to clean up a bit or experiment.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion- I am all about moisturizing as it gets colder. I hate the feeling of dry and scaly skin on a cold fall or winter morning, so to prevent that, I use this right before I go to bed. It's a lightweight moisturizer and won't clog your precious pores.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Good Times- Nars has to be one of my go-to brands and since I don't wear lipstick often, I find these lip pencils to be the perfect in between for getting a neutral lip tint when you wanna spice it up a bit.
Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey- Along with Nars, I love the Clinique Chubby Sticks. I can throw these into my bag and also have it as a back up to chapstick if needed. They come in a ton of different shades for all different tones, but I always gear more toward the natural blush and nude tints. No lipstick marks on my coffee cup please!
For the body...Bath and Body Works Sweater Weather Body Cream- This is my scent of the season and always will be. It is so hard to find it sometimes because it is so popular, so I make sure to stock up on hand creams, body gels, and candles in this scent for sure. It's the perfect blend of spice and woody scents.
Chloe Nomade Perfume- Along with warm and spicy scents, the Chloe Nomade perfume has been my choice of fragrance for the past couple of months. It's a warm floral with Oakmoss, Freesia, Mirabelle Liquor.
For the nails...
OPI Nail Polish in Stop It I'm Blushing- I always love a good creamy neutral or blush pink, so I happened to pick up this new shade that has a slight powder pink tint to it! You can never go wrong with OPI polishes.
For the eyes...
Glossier Lidstar in Cub- If you are someone who HATES eyeshadow creasing or having it move around on your face, Glossier Lidstars are for you! They're perfectly pigmented so you can build the color up with your finger and it lasts for so long. It also has a bit of copper shimmer, which is just divine. For the hair...
Briogeo Scalp Revival Shampoo- Okay, Ladies. Dandruff is a no-go this season. I got this Briogeo shampoo from a trial pack and have been using it sparingly to prevent the dreaded winter head itch and dry scalp. It works wonders! I've never paid much attention to the moisture of my hair, but realize it's really important this time of year. I am trying to put aside time for self-care more as the weather gets colder and the days get darker quicker. As a result, I'm getting more into experimenting with different looks. However, there are days when I just don't want to wear a single dab of makeup and that's okay! I feel like the makeup world is evolving and more people are becoming confident in their own skin, so remember to use makeup because it makes you feel good. We need a little bit more of that comfort nowadays.
Who am I kidding, I haven't worn makeup in like a year, but hey! It still brings me joy and that's all that matters. Today, I wanted to do a rather light-hearted post, as much as I also would love to briefly update you all on my life, it has been pretty slow-moving. Home life has ramped up, though, I have now designated a place in my childhood bedroom for work and school. I try to assimilate a routine every morning: wake up at 8 a.m., get dressed, eat breakfast, and get on with whatever class I have that day. I know my situation is much different as everyone else's currently, but one thing I know for sure is that I have not been wearing makeup at all.
I have not realized the power of makeup until I started becoming more and more of a zombie trying to get work done and feel somewhat like a presentable human. It goes to show that sometimes putting even a dab of concealer can make you feel more alive than ever.
Clinique has been one of my favorite brands for an all-day "no makeup" look. It's a power concealer in a bottle, the Skin Perfecting Foundation and Concealer allows my face to breathe, feel natural, moisturizes and conceals perfectly without having to feel it on my face. It's the perfect stay-at-home foundation.
Another one I've loved for a while is the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It's a great full-coverage concealer for those really long Zoom meetings. It doesn't crease and your professor will for sure not know if you stayed up watching Grey's Anatomy until 2 a.m.
On days where we have had some sun, I've been really trying to maximize the time I get to have outside. With that, I've noticed tan lines! However, the unwelcome oil is back on my face, and I have been mitigating it with the Physicians Formula Super BB powder. I bought this recently at TJ Maxx and have been using it ever since, the best part is that it's a powder with SPF 30.
Red eyes can become a common theme with heavy screen time, so every now and then, I'll dab a little bit of the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer to mask some of the redness and oiliness that builds up during the day of e-learning.
With a bit more sun-kissed skin and brighter days, I've been brushing on a bit of Nars Laguna Bronzer to my cheekbones and forehead. Another tip I have if you really want to look presentable with minimal effort, is using a brow pencil. The IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal brow pencil does just the trick for framing out your face in just a couple small swipes.
I hope you all are doing well, despite the circumstances, there are a lot of small ways we can make big impact and if that means putting on a bit of makeup, doing your hair, showering, or washing your face. Self care is the most important during these uncertain and rather worrisome times. A boost of confidence might be key, positivity goes a long way, so just know that we are all in this together.
On days when I just can't bear to wake up at 7am, or any normal day really, I try to minimize the number of steps I have to take in my morning routine. Wearing makeup has become less and less of an event in the morning. I remember in middle and high school I would dedicate a half hour to hair and makeup—fifteen minutes for curling and fifteen minutes for covering every zit on my face with powder that didn't even match my skin.
I would like to think that I've perfected my makeup routine with only three fundamental products: concealer, bronzer, and an eyebrow pencil. All of which have been my tried and true staples to get me ready to take on the day ahead.
Recently I have been drawn to reading Vogue articles about the one makeup item that people MUST have with them before they run out the door, I agreed with these three specific ones because they all serve a purpose in making me look alive and, for the most part, put together.
Concealer is just a given always. I have no time to slap on a face of foundation, nor the patience to let it settle, and I think concealer does just the job even better. It really depends on the type of concealer, though. I've had concealers that crease and fall off my face, so I would highly recommend the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. This is a full-coverage concealer that hides all of your imperfections, dark circles, red eyes, fine lines, and all of the above! The great thing is that it's multi-use and can be used for an eyeshadow primer, too. A couple dabs of this bad boy and I'm glowing.
When I want to glow, even more, I skip the blush and redness altogether. Bronzer is my saving grace on days when I wake up a little extra pale than normal, especially during the winter. The Nars Laguna Bronzer adds just the right amount of warmth I need.
I feel like a lot of people think that mascara is the one eye product you need before leaving the house, but for me, having structured and groomed eyebrows are essential. Most mornings, I wake up with mangey looking eyebrows and make it seem like I've been asleep for hours and hours. I never forget to do my eyebrows, or at least comb through them. The IT Cosmetics Brow Pencil is a two in one spoolie and pencil that I throw into my bag—having eyebrows on fleek frames my face and filling them in defines it even more.
I find this simple routine of three easy steps great for traveling. No mess, no worries, and I still feel put together and ready to get on with my busy day. What are the three products you can't leave without?
Mascara is probably one of the only main makeup items I use on the daily, and it wasn't until a couple weeks ago that I realized I had quite the thing for mascara. I felt that it was time to get rid of some old ones I had lying around. However, before I could make myself decide which mascara gets the ceremonial toss, I thought it would be helpful to share my opinions on which ones I love and which ones I probably won't repurchase.
There is one mascara in my collection that I would like to highlight as it is my newest and probably most expensive treasured mascara. The Givenchy Volume Mascara was a purchase I made in Barcelona this summer and a beauty splurge that made the books for me.
Whether it was the bougie red-hot glam packaging or the spanish speaking Sephora worker that convinced me, I have used this baby when I know my lashes need to look like a million bucks. I love the brush on this mascara because it glides on so smooth and effortlessly curves and plumps my lashes.
Masara Do'sThese are my tried and true mascaras that I will continue buying. I've explored some of these brands' other mascaras as well in the past and have always loved their formulas.
Benefit
They're Real Mascara- I've been using this mascara and repurchasing it since high school. Under the Givenchy mascara, this is probably my favorite (lesser fancy) mascara to wear on the daily. It's the perfect mascara for lengthening and feathering out your lashes.
Roller Lash- The Roller Lash has always been another favorite of mine as a curling mascara and really gives that butterfly effect and a hint of more drama.
Clinique
Lash Power Mascara- I was very impressed with the lengthening power of this product and the fact that it does. not. smear! I also just love Clinique products because they're safe for sensitive eyes and are allergy tested.
High Impact Mascara- This mascara does a very good job with giving my lashes needed volume. On nights when I want to add a bit of umph to my eye look, I'll grab this one—lush and plush!
Maybelline
Great Lash- This has just been a classic and simple mascara that I use as a back up whenever I need a quick fix or touch up. The blackest black almost mimics eyeliner and the smaller applicator is nice to get the smaller lashes and lower lash line. Perfect for traveling with, too! Maybelline just knows what they're doing.
Mascara Don'ts
These are mascaras that just didn't cut it for me. I haven't had luck with Tarte's mascara line and I do have to say that these two Covergirl mascaras aren't the only ones that I haven't liked in their range. For some reason, the formula always seems to clump or fall out during the day.
Tarte
Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara- I tried so hard to like this Tarte mascara, but it just kept disappointing me. Sometimes I would just forget that it didn't work and convince myself to try it again and every time it just clumps and my lashes feel weighted down by the formula.
Covergirl
Plumpify! Mascara & So Lashy! Mascara- I tried the whole Star Wars Covergirl line and really wanted to love it. Covergirl mascaras were actually the first ones I got to use when I started with makeup because my mom uses them (sorry mom). I just never liked their performance and they lack staying power of any kind. These applicators in particular have stabbed my eyes a couple times and I'm wondering why they chose to make a product that you use near your eyes with a spur on the tip.
Overall, I'm always willing to try new mascaras. Mascara is a product that makes me look less tired, opens up my eyes, and adds a bit of flare or drama to my look depending on the day or occasion. It's a product we all need in our makeup bags. I get a ton of samples of mascara, so it can be hard to really pinpoint or remember which one's I've loved or ones that I just don't feel like made the mark. What are your favorites?
I still have two more weeks until move-in, but that still makes me feel like summer is over. School for everyone else has started and I've been scrambling around to get the last-minute errands done and making the most out of the last free bits of time I have. It's sad, I know, but I am anxious to get the year started!
I have been long overdue with a beauty edit this summer so, I've compiled a couple of the most essential products I have been using over the past few months—and really not many at all. I got very lucky with my skin this summer and was blessed to not have any bad breakouts (fingers crossed), so minimal makeup was a move—as per usual.
My tried and true all-time favorite...
Nars concealer is always at my reach. I can get by with just dabbing this under my eyes and around some trouble spots and out the door I go! I've really just embraced natural skin and only using concealer as a touch up (and tired-eye savior). It's reliable, long-lasting, creamy, and my best friend.
On days when my skin needs a little boost...
I've been trying out the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer. First, it smells amazing and of green tea. It also gives me a very nice pearly highlight while hydrating my sun-kissed skin! A perfect pick-me-up moisturizer.
An added touch of glow...
The Too Faced Sweet Peach Papa Don't Peach Blush has been hiding from me for awhile until recently I discovered it when a Sephora beautician recommended it to me after searching for the perfect peachy-orange blush. I have olive skin, so most blushes can be too dark or show up too pale for my skin tone. The best part—it smells like peaches!
For unruly eyebrows...
The Glossier Boy Brow needs more praise! I swear, one swipe of this and my face already looks ready and prepped to go. There's something about groomed brows that just pulls everything together and cleans it up a bit. I always reach for this to add more depth and structure to my brows. A quick one swipe fixer upper.
When I need an eye-lift...
I made this splurge in Spain and I have not regretted it. The Givenchy Disturbia Mascara brings effortless curl and volume to my lashes with 24 hours of wear (which I have never tested), but it definitely lasts all day long. I love when mascaras separate my lashes without clumps, smudging, and smooth application—this mascara does just that.
For a clean eyelid base...
I'm not sure if I'm the only one who does this, but for someone with very oily eyelids, I like to dab a touch of eyeshadow primer to keep them matte and color controlled with the rest of my complexion. The Morphe Eyelid Primer dries on clear and lasts all day long. This is one of the best and most inexpensive eyelid primers I've ever used.
An added spritz of femme...
Last, but not least by far, this is my favorite product of the whole summer. I don't know how I never knew about it, but the Chloé Nomade perfume is me in a scent. It is a warm floral scent with notes of Oakmoss, Fressia, and Mirabelle Liquor. A combination I've never heard of before, but works so well together. It has a balance of floral and fruity—I'm terrible at describing scents, but it smells divine.
So, that's my wrap up for products I've used this summer and will continue to enjoy throughout fall. I'm a simple person when it comes to makeup, but I believe that there are some amazing products out there including the ones I mentioned. A little goes a long way, and that says a lot for a girl who only puts eyelid primer on. What are your go-to beauty products this month?
I was fortunate to be sent Esqido Lashes's new gel eyeliner to get to try out for you guys. I've raved about their Mink Lashes, so I was intrigued when they came out with liner and was excited to give them a go. I really haven't been on the "makeup game" lately because it's been a few months since I've bought new makeup to try out and use. However, I'm really into eye products more than anything and can report great things about this liner. So much so, that it will be the liner of the season! It's perfect for gift giving for all makeup lovers out there.
The formula of both black and brown liners goes on very smoothly and effortlessly. I've had trouble in the past with some pencil liners being too waxy to apply, but you only need small strokes and the color payoff is phenomenal. I definitely geared more towards the brown liner just because I love the natural look more than dramatically black and smokey.
I was also really surprised at the staying power of the liner and its lack of moving around my waterline during the day. Usually, I find that my pencil liner will build up in the corners of my eyes and I have to keep fixing it and wiping the excess liner that falls off. The Esqido Liner stays on for a really good amount of time and I was pleased to not have to fix it all the time.
If you're a daily eyeliner wearer and are looking for a silky and smooth liner, I would highly recommend these! They don't gather in the corners of your eyes or run down your face—they stay put as all liners should. Right now, Esqido eyeliners are on sale for $12! They are perfect as stocking stuffers and paired with their classic and famous Mink Lashes that I love. You can also read my review of them, here. You guys know I am always open to trying new products, and I am grateful when companies send me products to try out, so I definitely think you will enjoy these as much as I did!
Glossier has really caught my eye lately and has resonated with my love for a natural and minimal makeup look. I really haven't been shopping for makeup like I used to, but when the Glossier pop-up shop came to Chicago, I was inclined to go check it out with one of my friends. I've really loved the "your skin, but better" look where my imperfections aren't entirely invisible and you can see my face still. I also love subtle pigment and color, so I was happy to find a couple of products that I use a lot and love.
Lidstar Eyeshadow in Cub- I was in the mood of finding a new copper-toned eyeshadow and Glossier had the perfect treat for me! I absolutely despise creasing shadow. Even when I apply primer, sometimes I find my eyeshadows getting oily throughout the day. I was pleased to find out that the Lidstars are basically like primers and act as an eyeshadow base if you want it to. I love the shimmery sparkle it gives and the doe foot applicator makes it easier for me to apply on my fingertips and build the color if I want.
Boy Brow in Brown- I'm always a sucker when it comes to eyebrow products. I have heard the hype on the boy brow and see why it is so popular and loved. It basically does everything you could want in a brow product. It thickens, fills, and grooms your brows all in one. I have crazy eyebrows and when I wake up sometimes they need as much grooming as my hair does, so this is my go-to product and I can't leave the house without it.
Have you tried out Glossier? I think I'll have to put some products on my Christmas list for this year.
It's amazing that I've actually purchased a new blush to add to the collection. About a month ago I was really in search of a new peachy-bronzy shade for the fall season. I knew I wanted to head over to Sephora anyway and was nicely helped by one of the beauticians there. After not finding the Nars blush I was originally after, she suggested the Too Faced Papa Don't Peach blush.
I was a bit hesitant about it because I haven't used much of Too Faced face products and knowing that it was a scented product made me iffier on it. I know I have sensitive skin, so I thought whatever makes it fragrant might affect my skin and cause a reaction of some kind.
I actually fell in love with the shade. It's more of a bronzy-gold with a hint of peach and has a slight shimmer to it. It's a really great shade for the warmer months, too. I wore the color around the store a bit and really couldn't find anything else I liked more, so I decided to give it a chance.
My absolute favorite look is the frosty, but glowy look. This blush really adds a bit of warmth to the cheeks and I love it. I have no problem with it smelling so sweet and yummy.
I would say that the compact is pretty big for a blush, but you definitely get a lot of product and a very handy mirror. The tin helps it stay clean and safe. I don't know about you, but I find myself always slipping palettes and losing sacred pigments. I mean the aesthetic and detail in the packaging is just delicious, I always hate it when I lose some nice makeup out of my own clumsiness.
It's quality and staple products like these that I love using and spending my money on. Also finding what you love is always rewarding because I know how many endless options there are. Some of my blushes I've been using for ages and repurchasing. There's no harm in trying out new products and finding those favorites. What's your staple blush?
